Our Story

Vynco is a leading designer, distributor, and manufacturer of electrical components to the domestic, commercial and industrial markets.

Founded in 1991 by the Vale family, with lineage back to 1950, this family business has become renowned for constantly challenging traditional ideas and making innovative improvements to existing products.

Vynco is 100% family owned and operates across New Zealand and Australia, with premises in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington. With over 130 staff and a sales and customer care team of over 20 people, we pride ourselves on providing quick, convenient and personalised service to our customers throughout the country.

With customers at the core of Vynco’s focus, we work with local electricians and architects to innovate, improve, and produce dynamic products. Our R&D program is supported by our local Quality team who perform quality checks on each product sold by Vynco.

Our Sustainability Mission

Sustainability is a big part of what we do and who we are at Vynco, as a proudly 100% New Zealand owned business.

As a leading distributor in the electrical industry, we believe it is our responsibility to offer environmental alternatives to lessen construction waste, and in doing so we hope to inspire others to adopt similar sustainable business practices.

Amongst some of our environmental initiatives, we have been utilising biodegradable pulp packaging, tissue slips and digital instructions in a move to become more environmentally conscious about our business practices and their impact. We are constantly looking at ways to evolve our business to ensure we keep New Zealand clean and green.

 

Local Manufacturing

Vynco has a broad manufacturing and assembly capability based right here in New Zealand. This includes a sheetmetal fabrication plant, where over 300,000 parts are made every year.

25% of the products we sell are manufactured in New Zealand. This allows Vynco to continue to support the local New Zealand economy, while providing customers a quick product turnaround and customisation options.

Research & Development

Vynco is at the forefront of innovation and creativity with our large, NZ-based engineering team, specialising in research and development.

65% of the products we sell are designed by our expert team.

Our team has a strong focus on innovation and strives to create and develop products that challenge traditional ideas. Based in Christchurch, our product development and engineering team work with the brightest talent from NZ universities to develop local skill and provide opportunities to future engineers.
